When Margaret came to us a few weeks ago to tell us a bit about her story & why she wanted to do boudoir we were truly inspired by her and emotional at the same time. As a family business we could relate to Margaret and her story as the girls in the office lost their mum very young to Breast Cancer. We wanted to share Margaret’s inspirational story.

This first image has so much meaning behind it. Margaret wanted it to be spot coloured. The Japanese style coat was a gift to her from her friend when she graduated recently with her masters degree and now that she is in full recovery she has booked her dream holiday to spend almost a month in Japan later this year. The black and white depicts the darker days and the colour gown shows the colourful future.

“I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009 during my first routine breast scan and in less than 2 months I had a mastectomy/reconstruction then a few years later I was a divorcee - Had one lead to the other I have no idea. A few months ago some friends showed me their boudoir photos they had taken and I was enthralled with the way the photographer had capture their inner beauty I was very curious could someone find my inner self. I found 4Ever Photos on the internet, I made an appointment. I said I was 68 and did not want to wear sexy lingerie as I felt this was for a younger person and not really me. They understood perfectly and asked me to bring some items I was comfortable with to the shoot which I did.

The first part of my photoshoot was like a mini counselling session as Annette expertly and carefully drew out what I did and did not want to take away from the shoot. It was Annette who ask if I would feel comfortable to go nude (more topless really) and I heard myself say “why not.” Then Annette started clicking away and I was surprised how quickly I relaxed and enjoyed the whole process.”

“Annette listened to my ideas good and bad and in the end she capture the real me I think, the one I had not seen since before 2009. I left with the biggest grin on my face longing to come back and see the photos Annette had taken. I smile every time I look at my photos I am so proud and pleased with them it was impossible to pick the One so I got 10”

“To be honest I could write a book on my experience with 4everPhotos. Would I encourage someone to do a photoshoot? In a heartbeat. Not just cancer survivors but anyone who feels they may have lost themselves and who see themselves only as a mother, wife, divorcee whatever label you see yourself having. This experience is truly wonderful and the photos are a lasting memory of the day but also that you are so much more in the hands of the right photographer thank you Annette you don’t know how much you help me see myself again.
