Playing for keeps

CASTLE LESLIE WEDDING

Deaglan and Sionon met 9 years ago in Cafe Conor in Belfast where we both worked as students while at University. They got engaged during the Covid 19 pandemic in London.

Deaglan was signed for Celtic Football club but had a serious back injury and could no longer continue in his professional career. Sionan is a nurse and when he injured his back - she helped him in his recovery. He can't play pro football but he is still very much involved in sports. They just looked like a pro football couple - both very beautiful, full of fun and very in love.

On the morning of the wedding, we met up with Sionan to photograph the girls getting ready. When we arrived in the house in the morning everyone was super excited & there was a party atmosphere from the minute we arrived. The huge dining room table was dressed with the most amazing charcuterie banquet from Rare Grazing. All the hairdressers, make up artists and ourselves were fascinated with the spread that had been put on.

The girls were getting ready for a special day ahead with the most talented glam squad. The talented Makeup Artist Lynzi O’Lovely & superb Hair Stylist Donna Brennan Hughes had the girls looking a million dollars. Totally recommend these two for weddings and any occasion - you will look as flawless at the end of the night as you did at the start.

Once the girls hair & makeup were finished they had a glass of champagne to raise a toast to Sionan - these girls were so fun.

A once-in-a-lifetime occasion calls for a once-in-a-lifetime dress. Sionan’s wedding dress from Verona Bridal was an absolute dream. It was a square neck, fitted dress with diamond detail. Diamonds are the best detail for the bride seeking to add a little sparkle to her gown. The veil also include diamonds throughout and was a perfect match for the dress!

Sionon was an absolute pleasure to photograph. She looked incredible on the day - such a beautiful person both inside & out.

Sionon’s Mum Margaret played a huge role in the wedding as she planned the whole day - she should be a wedding planner. Every little detail was covered & she did an absolutely fantastic job. She also looked absolutely stunning on the day and was the proudest mum!

With the final touches done with the help of our Mum, Sionan was finally ready to walk down the aisle.

We first met Deaglan when we photographed his brothers & sisters weddings so it was great to catch up with the Buntings again - they really are the loveliest bunch.

We captured him that morning going over his speech for the big day whilst getting ready.

The boys looked so handsome in their smart suits.

As the morning continued, Sionon made her way to the church to meet her husband to be with her dad who is also called Deaglan.

The girls arrived at the church and were so ready for a day full of happiness. With minutes left to go, the bridesmaids made final touches to make sure Sionon’s dress & veil was perfect for walking down the aisle. Dad also give a helping hand adjusting the veil.

House of Elliot Flowers created the most elegant bouquets which complimented both the bride & bridesmaids dresses perfectly. I love Karens flowers from House of Elliott. They are always so elegant and opulent. Did you know Karen was the personal florist for royalty for years.

Sionon & Deaglan had the biggest smiles when they had finally seen each other for the first time that day - it was such a beautiful moment to capture. It was also made special as their family priest was able to make it to St Brighids to be the official celebrant on the day.

Sionon & Deaglans ceremony was absolutely beautiful. The music throughout the ceremony was by the fantastic Sionán Mullan

Congraulations Mr & Mrs Bunting!

After the ceremony and after we had gotten a few quick photos with Sionon & Deaglan, we made our way to Castle Leslie to start the wedding celebrations.

We got a bit of alone time with Sionon and Deaglan firstly to capture some photographs as husband & wife. No need to stop off anywhere else as the grounds & Castle itself are breathtaking. Castle Leslie is a stunningly beautiful and secluded estate in Co. Monaghan ideal for your wedding celebration in Ireland. Nestled on 1,000 acres of undulating Irish countryside, dotted with ancient woodlands and glittering lakes. It is also where Paul McCartney married Heather Mills and put it on the map as the ultimate wedding venue.

Once the photographs of the bride & groom were finished, they then went onto mingle with friends & family. Castle Leslie was packed with people. It was one of the biggest weddings I have seen in the castle and every guest was ready to celebrate the day.

The pre-meal welcome at the reception venue was provided by the unbelievable John Garrity. He set the tone and summer party vibes had started.

When the bride & groom entered the room they were greeted with the biggest cheer & celebration. They truly were surrounded by people who wanted to celebrate their special day with them.

The Pavilion room within Castle Leslie is so bridal. The roof and walls are covered with drapes, fairy lights and chandaliers giving it a really magical fairytale feeling.

This beautiful four tier wedding cake with floral detail from House of Elliot Flowers was created by the amazing Fairy Tree Cakes.

As the evening continued on, the guests had entertainment from the Singers Secreto which is always the best of fun & gives the guest a laugh. The Rare Auld Stuff covered the evening & had all the guests on their feet. This lot really knew how to party & celebrate - it was a great evening and day all round.

Congratulations to Sionon & Deaglan on their special day. Wishing you lots of love today & beyond - warmest wishes for a fun filled life together.
