Queen Of The Castle

Wedding Celebrations at Killeavy Castle

Sorcha and Michael have been together for 10 years - Being together from such a young age meant they have been lucky enough to share so many amazing memories together. They met through mutual friends and after a few months made it official. They got engaged on their 5 year anniversary in Druids Glenn, County Wicklow. Michael had been planning it for 3 months prior and picked Sorcha’s engagement ring himself which she absolutely loved. It came as a big surprise to Sorcha as she had no idea and never suspected a thing. They booked the amazing Killeavy Castle for their big day which was the the most amazing day to capture and be part of with the most beautiful couple inside & out!

On the morning of the wedding we met up with Sorcha and her bridal party to capture a few shots of them getting ready for the big day. The house had such a lovely atmosphere and was full of excitement.

The ultra talented glam squad consisted of makeup artist Karen Murphy owner of KLM Makeup & Brows and hair stylist Kay Burns - would highly recommend the both of them as they are amazing at what they do. Makeup Artist Karen Murphy created the most flawless and glowy makeup for Sorcha - it was very minimalist but perfect as she is naturally stunning. Hair Stylist Kay Burns (who is top of her game in wedding hair stying) styled Sorcha’s hair in a super smooth & elegant low bun and added a beautiful pearl headpiece by another great talent Aimee Farrell Designs.

I absolutely love extra touches throughout a wedding which make it more personal. On our brides bouquet she added a photograph of her Dad so she had a little bit of him walking down the aisle with her.

Once the girls had they hair and makeup done we then got Sorcha’s accessories on & made a start on getting her into the dress. Sorcha’s dress from La Boda Bridal was a pronovias gown which had a plunging neckline complete with the full princess skirt trimmed in beautiful lace and illusion back detail - it was simply stunning. Finishing off with a touch of Jo Malone perfume, Sorcha was finally ready to walk down the aisle looking absolutely incredible.

The girls styled their looks with grand and natural bouquets from The Wild Butterfly

On arriving at the Church we met up with Michael and his groomsmen for a couple of photos before the ceremony. Michael & the groomsmen were great craic with plenty of energy - they were all up for their photographs being taken. The boys arrived at the Church with plenty of time to talk and mingle with the guests when the photographs were finished.

The boys wore classic three piece tuxedos from Dee Graham Trailor Made. Tuxedo’s are the most iconic suit of all time. They styled their look with black patent shoes and boutonnieres - They all looked very handsome.

Michael’s Mum and Dad were also dressed fabulously for the big day. Michael’s Dad wore also wore a tuxedo and Michael’s Mum wore a beautiful blush lace detail dress with a matching headpiece. Mum was super proud of Michael and fixed his suit and accessories to perfection before he walked down the aisle.

Sorcha and her Mum arrived Church full of excitement ready for the day ahead and looking like picture of beauty.

Everyone was on hand to help Sorcha out of the car and lift that dress which was such a showstopper.

When the feel of a day is royal and regal - you really need a aisle that is opulent and grand enough - as you can see from the bridal party shot on the alter below - Newry Cathedral was the perfect location to say “I Do”. The cathedral always takes my breath away - the architecture, the sheer size. It feels like somewhere a princess would get married.

Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Rocks! Our bridal team look absolutely stunning - a gorgeous group of people.

After the ceremony we made our way to Killeavy Castle in Newry -it is a castle of luxury and is the perfect setting to bring family and friends together in celebration. It overlooks Ring of Gullion, Mourne and Cooley Mountains and and surrounding woodlands. With so many different areas to use on the grounds of the Castle you are pretty much spoiled for choice - they grounds and the castle itself are breathtaking.

Once again the castle backdrop was perfect for this regal feeling wedding.

This is one of my favourite shots of Sorcha - it showcases her dresses, her bouquet, accessories and her beauty. These underground tunnels and the warm sunlight on the day makes these shots look like they were taken in a foreign hot location.

When the band starting to play at the drinks reception, the atmosphere was electric. Canapes serves, Champagne for everyone and traditional Irish music - they do nothing but start the dancing outside on this warm autumn afternoon. The atmosphere was just full of love and celebration. I will never forget this wedding.

Sorcha & Michael cut into their fabulous three-tiered wedding cake. They kept their cake simple and elegant with a touch of gold leaf and florals matching the bridal teams bouquets.

The Pavilion room within Castle Leslie provides the most jaw dropping reaction for your guests. The roof and walls are covered with drapes, fairy lights and chandaliers giving it a really magical feeling that is a perfect fit for a fairytale day. The added floral displays for an extra touch of glamour.
