CASTLE BELLINGHAM WEDDING

This wedding at Castle Bellingham was not just a magical moment for the couple, the photographs and the photo shoot were a magical moment for us as photographers. Everything was perfect, from the venue, the suppliers, the weather and as you will see from this blog - this couple were so elegant, beautiful, full of fun. David and Sarah-Jane met whilst on a night out over Christmas in December 2014. David surprised Sarah-Jane with a marriage proposal in August 2019 when they were staying in Adare Manor. They had originally booked their wedding for August 2021 and then due to covid, they decided to postpone it until October 2022. '“It sounds like a cliche but our wedding day was the best day of our lives”.

David & Sarah-Jane tied the knot with an emotional church ceremony at Church of St Brigid, Glassdrummond before celebrating with their guests at the elegant Bellingham Castle.

On the morning of the wedding, we met up with Sarah-Jane to photograph the girls getting ready. From the moment we stepped into the bridal house the atmosphere was full of excitement, fun & good vibes all morning as the girls got ready for the big day ahead.

Sarah-Jane is absolutely beautiful & fabulous to photograph. The very talented Mary Maguire Hair Management created signature Hollywood waves which looked super elegant. The brilliant Tara Doran created a soft and flawless makeup look for Sarah-Jane - They did a fantastic job in enhancing her natural beauty.

Sarah-Jane wore a sleek satin wedding dress with a cowl neckline from La Boda Bridal - A sleek, simple yet very glamorous wedding dress.

The bridesmaids dresses were Fuchsia Chiffon from Perfect Day and were complimented with stunning floral bouquets from The Flower Barrow

With the final touches done & everybody looking gorgeous it was finally ready to walk down the aisle.

When we met up with the Groom & groomsmen a bit later in the day they were all looking handsome in three piece tuxedo’s - this will always be a timeless look.

You can always depend on The Flower Barrow to create the most beautiful bouquets, arch ways and any other floral detail you can imagine for your wedding day. The girls go way beyond florists. When Sarah-Jayne arrived at the chapel, it was raining heavily. The ground was wet and the dress could not be let down. Elaine took off her coat, lay it on the grown and we got the beautiful images with the floral pillars at the front doors. Between the two of us, we got the shot - would you even know it was chucking it down in the photographs below.

After the ceremony & a few special moments between the new Mr & Mrs Murphy, we headed off to the luxurious Bellingham Castle for some celebrations. Set on the banks of the glistening River Glyde, Bellingham Castle is an opulent, exclusive-hire castle wedding venue, where you and your guests can enjoy a magical day in complete privacy - highly recommend! There are very few castles where you can have it just to yourself for the day.

No need to stop off anywhere else for photographs as the grounds & Bellingham Castle itself are breathtaking - with so many different areas to use you are pretty much spoiled for choice. I always love the images down by the water with the castle in the background. Its an iconic image of the castle on wedding days and of course as this was a magical wedding, the sun beams came out just at the right time. They say the camera never lies and these photographs are a good example of that quote - unlike most grooms, David was happy to spend time down by the water with his new wife getting a few photographs. They laughed together, interacted, cuddled and really enjoyed it and it shows in the photographs.

Back in the main gardens we met up with the bride & grooms family before everyone headed for the reception to chill out, have a drink & mingle before the speeches and dinner.

When we got into the drinks reception, Raglan were in full swing. The atmosphere was more like the end of the night vibes rather than the drinks reception. The party was well and truly under way. Guests were on the tables dancing, and the band was whipping up a storm in the castle.

Laulo Cakes created this incredibly detailed three tiered cake - it looked so grand. The Flower Barrow provided the floral decoration which matched the bouquets.

After dinner, we headed outside to capture some stunning pictures of Sarah-Jane & David whilst the place was lit up beside the beautiful water feature.

As the night continued, Sugartown Road got our bride, groom & the rest of their friends and family who joined them for celebrations up on the dance floor to enjoy the rest of the night.
