Scottish Irish Wedding at Lough Erne Hotel

Scottish Irish Wedding at Lough Erne Hotel

Kilts, heather, tartan and thistle were used in the styling of Louise and Colins wedding in Lough Erne Golf Resort and Spa in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland.  Louise came home from Scotland with Colin to get married.  As Louise is now living in Scotland with Colin, she decided to have alot of her photographs taken around the farm at home.  Wellie Boots, tartan and kilts all came together to make some beautiful wedding photographs.

Jenny Packham shoes

I love Jenny Packham for anything she designs in bridal.  These little peep toed heels with just the right amount of bling went perfectly with Louises' dress.

Derelect farm for wedding photographs with wellie boots

The old corrugated building on the field at the back of farmhouse was a great backdrop for wedding photographs.  The colours and textures were perfect with the wellington boots.

As we walked past one of the garages, I spotted a pink VW Beetle.  It was a 1971 original and had been Louise's first car.  It still worked but we just took a few shots of it in the lock up.

After we left the home farm, we arrived at Lough Erne Golf Resort and Spa.

Afternoon tea at lough erne

I love the way Lough Erne greet their wedding couples.  They are taken off in a golf buggy down to the water.  The driver then serves the couple with an afternoon tea.  They get to sample the delights of Head Chef Noel McMeel.  With blood sugars sorted and a little rest, its time for a few shots around the grounds of the hotel.

First dance at Lough Erne

It was a perfect night and as the sun began to set, the colours of the sky were pinks and oranges.  Everyone came out of the wedding room to watch the sun set as they drank champagne and celebrated the beautiful wedding

The  bestman was nervous about the dancing all day.  The groom had told him that in Ireland the best man had to do the special "best mans dance" - they had choreographed a really elaborate dance routine and told him that it was taken very serious in Ireland.  The poor guy was really worried about this dance all day. At this point, I wish I had video to show you the moves but these photographs give you the feel of the nerves.
